Come along and indulge in sweet and savoury delights at The Crown on 21st February. We will be cooking pancakes galore to mark the start of the 47 days countdown to Easter.

So if you are in and around Standish and fancy a crepe take a trip to the The Crown on Pancake Day.

Tickle those taste buds and confess to all how tantalizing The Crown crepes are.

Did you know?

That in Newfoundland and Labrador children take delight in delving into their pancakes to find objects which are intended to predict their future.

Folklore has it that pancake races originated after a woman in Olney lost track of time one day whilst making pancakes, only when the church bells rang did she realise the time. With pan in hand she ran all the way to the Church. Now tradition throughout the UK reinacts the race to the Church as villagers run tossing their pancakes.

Wigan Food and Drink Festival 1st to the 11th of March.

We will be celebrating Wigan’s twinning with Angers with our French weekend from the 2nd to 4th March, an extensive menu of classic French dishes, with French wines and beers to match.

From the 8th to the 11th of March we will be running a beer festival (theme tbc) culminating in our Beer and Food Matching evening.
An 8 course taster menu with a beer to match each course.
